A Different Way Of Looking At Things

A random memory popped into my head this morning.

My Grade 12 math teacher used to always tell us:

You should never use lined paper for math problems. Because, it forces you to think in straight lines. Use blank paper instead. That way, you always think in circles.

I don’t remember how to do quadratic equations. But, I remember that little nugget of philosophy.
